One of the keys to our Selecting Winners Six Steps to Hiring Success process is to gather as much data as possible. A technique we advocate is to have multiple people interview each candidate. Some of the people who participate on your interview team will not be managers. But their input is critical to your hiring success. The best hiring process has everyone using the same methodology and language.

The Selecting Winners Individual Contributor Workshop is designed specifically for the needs of your interview team members that are not currently managers. This half-day program provides them with all the tools and techniques they need to conduct effective interviews and participate in the group evaluation.

The specific areas covered in the workshop are as follows:

Foundation
They learn how to avoid common problems. They learn how to focus on past behavior as the best predictor of future behavior. They are introduced to the overall Selecting Winners process.

Preparation
In this module the participants learn all about interview questions. They learn the characteristics of effective questions as well as the six types of questions to ask. They learn how to create questions, what order to ask the questions, how to probe below the surface and how put an interview plan together.

Implementation
This module teaches how to manage the face-to-face interview. Topics covered include: creating the right setting, to putting the candidate at ease to maintaining control. In addition, specific emphasis is placed on providing techniques to manage difficult candidates. The participants will know how to draw someone out, how to manage the talkative person and how to make certain the candidate does not avoid answering your questions.

Evaluation
This module shows the participants how to evaluate the data they gathered in the interview. They learn how to support their evaluation using our matrix evaluation system. They will know how to participate in a group evaluation.
